Hey guys, I rarely post here, but check often without logging in.

So I am graduating from college this December (Yesssss!!). I attend a CSU here in Southern California. I will be receiving my Bachelors in Business Management- Human Resources. I have been blessed to get in-state tuition, so I've been able to pay out of pocket. I work full-time, so the majority of my income went to school. Can you believe I started paying a little over 1k for a quarter in 2006, now 2010 it's up to $1800! Crazy high for us, paying out of pocket. I really don't know how I did it.... I have a higher GPA than my citizen friends and they work "part time," which is about 15 hours a week, and live with their parents and receive financial aid.

Back to the topic, any college graduates here? How do you manage knowing you're qualified for position/jobs to jump start your career?

I feel a slight depression coming up... but I should be proud of my investment in higher education.

I want to know how others deal and cope... I just have so many goals to accomplish in life, it's tough watching politicians having your future in their hands. Its nerve pinching and patience is dying.

I don't know, I have a year left and I'm excited to graduate and all, but once I have that diploma, I don't know what I'm gonna do. I have plans layed out, more or less, but who knows. I'm not that patient, and I know there's countries out there that would be perfectly willing to give me residency if I wanted to, with that diploma.

I graduated last June from a CSU as well. To be honest, there are gonna be good days and bad days. Mine have been mostly ok to good, with a little bit of slight depression sprinkled in once in a while. I try to keep myself as busy as possible, but with my friends at school, I don't go out as often as I want to. It's a good thing that I have my girlfriend, or else I'd probably go crazy.

You're actually lucky that you have a full-time job. I've been applying to a lot places for a while now. I got call backs and interviews from some but got rejected because of my status. Right now, I'm stuck helping my mom babysit. When you graduate with a degree in accounting cum laude, throwing away poopy diapers is not the business.

I would love to go to grad school, but my parents can't afford to send me there anymore. If you're willing to pay for your master's, that might be a good route for you. You'll be bettering yourself that way and will become even more marketable when all this is fixed.

The important thing is to focus on the things that you can control. Keep yourself busy, and don't take things for granted. As sucky as my life may seem to me, I'm pretty sure others have it worse.

Best advice I can give you is start a Masters before you get all depressed over not being able to get a job.
