because the site also offers the option to email certain senators directly, and i personally thought this was a great example

They will know it was copy pasted and does not really come from the individuals soul and heart. If I received a lot of emails like that I would be pissed off.

It is a lot better to write it by hand. A written letter adds a sense of there being an actual human being. It makes it more sentimenal.

A lot more effective than the same copy-and-paste letter sent through e-mail.
