I apologize but you are wrong. Suburb or any other place that has relatively low population density is preferably the best place to be in case of zombie outbreak. City, on the other hand, must be avoided at all cost! Again, try to use silencers or use crossbows if you can. (remember, you can pullout bolts from zombies' skulls)

specially considering the distance between houses and maybe greater likelihood that the neighbors, living far apart, might have a good cache of weapons meaning greater potential that as a group everyone could create this sort of secure barrier between zombies and a civilization of non-infected individuals. maybe

When you live in the city people do exactly what you are saying, they instinctively move out and head to the suburbs and the country because without utilities cities are pretty much useless and this drives people to seek places that can provide the basics like water (lakes, creeks, rivers) and ample land for hunting game and growing crops (which is unrealistic for the short term). The problem with the suburbs is that it is rather hard to form effective barricades especially since you are on ground level and the home structure is rather weak. Zombies aren't going to stay in the cities, you might have many wandering about looking to feed themselves but they will always follow people.

The initial outbreak might be tougher for cities but I would definitely choose stairs, steel doors, concrete, and warehouses as opposed to a wooden home frames, sheetrock walls, and convenience stores.
