Are are sure? So for someone who is over 30 and has a Bachelor's degree is screwed?

then you are not covered by this current version of dream act. you have to be younger than 30 in order to be eligible for dream act. people in this forum, including you, have been going on and on about how 40,50, 60 year olds can benefit from this retroactive provision if they have college degree without fully understanding what it means. now you know.

I am very sad.

House has no cap though. Do you think stuff can change after everything is done? or Should I give up hope?

I'm thinking the Senate's version will be the version they go with. I wouldn't say you don't have any hope, just wait until we have the final language of the bill.

DREAM Act in whatever form in the end will have an age cut off. thats one of the biggest issue amongst republians; that the scope of the bill is too broad.

but we're getting way ahead of ourselves. it doesnt even look like we're gonna have 60 votes for this thing this year anyway. i doubt that the congress can tackle bush tax cuts (they still havent come to a compromise with that) and government funding and still have time left to discuss DA.

I guess I was fooled with the Retroactive.

It says you have to have Sec4a1 but F. F is the part about the age-cap. Maybe I am wrong.

Lets get one thing clear before more people ask the same questions again. Not every state allows undocumented immigrants to pay in state tuition. I attend college and have 30 some credits. I was able to use my fathers paperwork to grant me in state tuition but as my classes got more expensive I was forced to stop going to school. I was a pre-med major and continue because the higher the science classes the more expensive they got. I graduated high school with a 3.4 GPA and would have qualified for the Bright Future scholarship 75% paid tuition. But my status didn't allow me. So don't sit there and think that just because we're older we didn't do anything with our lives. I worked and paid taxes since I was 17 yrs old. I married in 02 and have 2 kids. That's what I have been doing for the past few yrs....

No Retroactive part seems stupid to me.

A person who is 29 and qualifies for the dream act will be 31 when done with their first 2yrs. Yet, a person who is 30 right now and has all 4 years and a bachelors completed does not.

But whatever, I hope you kiddos get it! You desirve it. (I was leaving anyway)
