not sure, but it seems that the ample amount of time would be for them to verify and for you to meet a series of requirements before they adjust your status to LPR

You guys will have to forgive my skepticism, but I don't think that is the actual text of the bill. For once, the Thomas Library of Congress doesn't have it yet because the they haven't received it from the GPO. Secondly, when I opened the bill I realized it didn't have the date it was introduced, so anything could have happened to that bill before being introduced. Thirdly, I found gramatical mistakes. That had to be a draft or something. IDK I'll wait before I judge. I really don't like the 13 years before citizenship bs.

I would guess that to be the scenario, I mean you could apply earlier if you wished, you could apply as early as the age of 12 as long as you prove you are a current student in a primary or secondary school in order to be covered by the bill and have removal process being taken off, but the deadline is 1 year after you graduate you high school in this case.

yeah you are right, we are unsure, but right now this seems like the worst case scenario bill I have seen out there, and its worth it to analyze the worst case scenario bill in preparation for whatever comes our way, Reid did mention when he introduced the DREAM Act that there were changes to the bill. Hopefully they are less severe then what we are seeing here, but if you still meet all the requirements despite all the considerable changes, then you are in a pretty good position regarding most changes that could be made. Take this as an example of the kind of changes that may be observed, they may not be all there, they may be all there, or there may be more changes, we don't know until its posted up there.

BTW, did anyone catch what bill did Reid place on the calendar, I missed the number, that is the most important part?

I know it was not S. 3999

the number just went in through one ear and out through the other as I was still very sleepy.

iv. This part is I think very important and what I have felt has been missing from the DREAM Act, you may not have committed a felony that is punishable by more then 1 year (a felony, if I recall my law class definition is any charge punishable by more then 1 year, so this basically includes all felonies). Or having committed 3 or more offenses under federal or state law punishable by at least 90 days and convicted on different dates for each of the 3 offences.

and obvious change was the decrease of age from 35 to 30, unfortunately for those

It also specifically detail the need to be compliant under the selective service act, which is overkill since its already covered in the portion I mentioned above, in fact it references the same exact law, but I guess the advantage is that its able to be seen by everyone and does not have to be researched anymore

the most regrettable change I observe is under the retroactive clause, you have to meet all the requirements under section 4(a)(1).... under that section is the age cap.

What if you did come as a kid before the age of 16 but you completed high school outside the US?

You forgot to quote the section before it.

It looks like you're okay if you are accepted into college.
