I'm 22 and I was just wondering if there would be any problems if I register now?

Alright, that's cool. I just go to the post office and ask for a Selective Service application, right?

wait, I check on the website, it says

"If you are an immigrant male (documented or undocumented) living in the United States, age 18 through 25, you are required to register. You may submit your registration to the Selective Service by filling out the form below and clicking on "Submit Registration." Non-immigrant males living in the United States on a valid visa are NOT required to register."

Is that mean that females don't require to sign up for the selective service?

It says you need a valid SSN.

Just go to the post office. Ask them for it if you don't see it. You fill it out, seal it and then just drop it off in the mailbox or whatever depending on how fast you want it to get there.

Guys, stop panicking and just do it. It's simple, fast and easy. Girls are not required to register for the SS, only males. Even if you don't have a social, you MUST register. You need to go to your post office and grab one of these forms, if you don't see them, ask for one.
You can only fill out the paper application because it asks for a social security online. You can't put an ITIN or anything else, leave the Social Security Number space blank, it won't count against you.
You won't also be able to check the status of your application via phone or online since it will ask for your ssn. Youwill get a confirmation letter along with your card in the mail after 2/3 months--but it will get there.

I can vouch for signing up for selective service, nothing bad will happen to you. You just fill it out, leave out the social part, and mail it, and in a few weeks they send you back a card. simple. good luck.
