God, I love O'Donnell. Steve King is a lying piece of shit. I especially liked the part where O'Donnell brought up the soldier who received Citizenship upon his death. It made King squirm like a little bitch.

There is a tuition waiver for spouses/children of active duty soldiers (whether or not they serve in Afghanistan/Iraq is irrelevant) so that they do not have to pay out of state tuition. Too bad O'Donnell didn't know that. He could've called Rep. Steve King out on another one of his made up "facts."

Not that it matters anyway since the new version of the DA takes away in state tuition.

I love MSNBC also, I saw the show today and saw that and thought it was amazing... Rachel Maddow is also great. and so is Keith Olbermann... However, for as good as they are, people who watch them already agree with them... like us, so they don't really get to persuade many people who believe differently... which blows... there should be a way to force all crazy republican voters to watch their shows at least once lol... specially when they do those interviews

And how do you join the military if you are undocumented....

if you are LPR...

here is what someone quoted from NumberUSA that I worked to prove wrong

Quote:
If foreign nationals are eager to join the military, they don't need a free pass to college. They can use the GI bill when leaving the forces with an honorable discharge. Anyone who is willing to fight for this country deserves to live here. Take college off the table, make the prerequisite of military service and congratulate them for serving their new nation by giving them citizenship and then sending them to college under the GI bill. I will applaud and thank anyone who is willing to risk his or her life to protect my liberty.

So why are the officers in attendance at the military recruiting centers, not aware that non-citizens can still join any arm of the services? Or could it be most students have no intentions of becoming part of the army, marines, navy or air forces, using this issue to avoid any deportation?

Another provision that misleads the public is the fact that an illegal alien can join the military in this time of martial conflict and collect as a guarantee a path to citizenship. Under current law (10 USC § 504), the Secretary of Defense can authorize the enlistment of illegal nationals. Once enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces, under 8 USC § 1440, these illegal aliens can become naturalized citizens through expedited processing, often obtaining U.S. citizenship in six months? NumbersUSA
here is my response from my research using the cited information above.

Quote:
non-citizens that can apply to the military are Permanent Residents, undocumented immigrants can't apply to any branch of the military, the only way for them to join the military as undocumented immigrants is if there is a draft, as it is mandatory for undocumented immigrants between the age of 18 and 25 to be enrolled in the selective service system, and there has not been a draft since the Vietnam war.

here is 10 USC § 504

no mention of what you referred to.

in case you were wondering about the only reference to immigrants in there, under immigration and naturalization act (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20)), are defined as those that are permanent residents.
