Sheeesh.. Find a motel 6 in that state and USE its address as your zip code.. last thing you want is all your hard work not counted because they figure to ignore you since you dont reside in their state.

Also guys, use the CBO reports about the deficit cuts if the Dream Act gets passed. Let them know we aren't a burden toward the American people, but its future.

Continue to call, fax, e-mail, and pray. God bless everyone.

I believe it pits citizens and undocumented students against one another in competing for a small pot of available higher education funding, including student loans and work-study programs. By not authorizing additional funds for such programs, this legislation means fewer American citizens would receive tuition assistance and they would be denied access to a higher education as a result. This policy would be unfair to students, their parents and Americans who attained citizenship through legal channels.

The latest bill specifically says no Federal funding whatsoever. I called his office and a rep said the senator is now aware of the new language in the bill.. I
What?!

SEC. 11. HIGHER EDUCATION ASSISTANCE.
Notwithstanding any provision of the Higher Edu
cation Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1001 et seq.), with respect
to assistance provided under title IV of the Higher Edu
cation Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1070 et seq.), an alien who
is granted conditional nonimmigrant status or lawful per
manent resident status under this Act shall be eligible only
for the following assistance under such title:
(1) Student loans under parts B, D, and E of
such title IV (20 U.S.C. 1071 et seq., 1087a et seq)
, subject to the requirements of such 2 parts.
(2) Federal work-study programs under part C
of such title IV (42 U.S.C. 2751 et seq.), subject to
the requirements of such part.
(3) Services under such title IV (20 U.S.C.
1070 et seq.), subject to the requirements for such
services.

This is from the official bill S.3992. Explain to me how this makes us ineligible for student loans and federal work study, otherwise you're just making stuff up. People, read the fucking bill.

Yeah, the bill I read says nothing about us being ineligible for student loans and federal work study.

Well then what you can say, it work to resolve the issue, i.e. talk to Durbin for an agreement on this, I believe Durbin would do his best to assist in getting him on-board, just call and ask him what it would take for vote, and point out that bill still does not allow for in-state tuition.
