Sorry.... CSPAN1 watched it live when Reid said the magical words that he would like the bill added to the calendar at around 9:35-ish (+/- 5 minutes) a.m. EST.

Good, good. Get the tax cuts out of the way so we can finally vote on the DREAM.

Silly IDim. The House, unlike the Senate, has balls. Theyre gonna force a "Middle Class Only" tax cut bill. Imagine how happy that will make the GOP.

Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (D-Ill.)- We are still on track to pass the DREAM Act in the House, but we ran out of time to have a vote this week, so it looks like we will have it next week.We have to follow certain rules in the House and do things in a certain order to call bills to the floor and we ran out of time for the DREAM Act this week.

Dems On The Fence

Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., is retiring after the lame-duck session, so he has little to lose on his vote. Still, spokesman Barry Piatt told IBD, "The senator is still undecided.

Sen. Jim Webb,He has not indicated how he will vote," said spokesman Will Jenkins.

Sen.Joe Manchin,
"The senator is reviewing the legislation, considering all viewpoints, and has yet to make a formal decision on the Dream Act," said Manchin spokeswoman Sara Scarbro.

Today, on CSPAN2, the live senate coverage of the vote on the vote for the bush tax cut extension, after it failed to pass with only 56 yays for the tax cut that would be for the first 250k on income that would have benefited middle and lower income class individuals (before the vote for the amendment of the under $1 million crowd), Senator Reid changed the schedule.

Now, there will be a impeachment hearing on tuesday and likely to terminate on Wednesday. Most importantly he filed on the schedule that the vote on three bills, one of those including the DREAM Act will take place an hour after session begins on Wednesday. That was mentioned at 10:57 am today.

After that, they will continue on to taxation if it does not pass today, followed by the START Treaty, and other important bills.
