Saying that those of us that are in US Universities and colleges are taking the place of a legal us citizen. Why the hell do they say this. Why are they complaining that their own kids cant fucking get to college. Why are these americans complaining about JOBS. Sure the economy is tough but there is jobs out there but to get a job you need an education. Many americans dont even have a college degree or diploma those that do not have a good education have a harder time at getting a job. Why can't they let us work instead of bitching about themselves not being able to get a job. They just do not want competition because they say we will take over

Because they listen to people like Glenn Beck, quote Sessions, love Sarah Palin, and get amused when they are showed a stupid, senseless video on FOX after they say something that can make them doubt their point of view. These people do not think for themselves and allow FOX and other means of media to represent them.

Because its a human tendency to find something or someone to put the blame on. This is how we escape from our problems and make excuses for not performing well.

We're the scapegoat to America, just like the above posted commented. It is very stupid to think that we are the reason their kids did not get accepted. For example, UC's tend to take the top 10% of students in high school and college, is it any of our faults that a senseble authority figure in a UC would rather take soemone who has good grades than someone who hasn't.

The irony of the problem is that even if we don't get those jobs does not guarantee americans will get it. Chances are if they can't find anyone that is qualified to fill those positions that require high levels of education, they are not going to dumb the requirements down, they are just going to outsource the job or bring someone else from another country who meet the requirements to do the job.

Or move to another country, which is cheaper and brings in more wealth to company owners. Imagine, you get a tax cut for the rich business owners and CEO's, not only can they move to India and hire someone for less pay than here, they also get to laugh at your face while Faux News do their bidding.

True.

People just love to tear you down. It makes them feel better about their miserable existence.

For one --

Everyone should STOP posting thread titles that sound like they were written by a anti-DREAMers!!! ! It makes it sound like all "legal" Americans are complaining about the DREAM Act.

People search for the DREAM Act on Google, many, many, many people do not know what the DREAM Act is. You DO NOT want people stumbling here and having that kind of title jump out at them.

Remember in politics the basic premises is you are either a) preaching to the choir b)screaming into deaf ears or c) Trying to convince those without a firm opinion ! GUESS WHICH ONE YOU SHOULD BE AIMING FOR ??????

As far as the actual subject:

Telling people their kids are stupid or lazy or telling them that there are jobs out there for them that they are too stupid or lazy to get --- is NOT going to help convince people to your point of view.

How about actually addressing their concerns instead ?
I am a citizen, my last relative to immigrate here came about 100 years ago. I SUPPORT THE DREAM ACT. I sent emails and Facebook messages to all my friends and relatives - most of whom have lived in the U.S. for generations as well-- almost all of them SUPPORT THE DREAM ACT.

Why ?
BECAUSE: it is the morally correct thing to do ( we have seen our kids friends grow up to no future due to a decision made by their parents ),
BECAUSE: it makes good economic sense ( increased taxes paid in = less deficit, less tax burden for me.
BECAUSE: it will increase our military capabilities ( many of my friends have family members who are serving )
BECAUSE: it will help bail out social security and medicare ( my friends and I are all getting older ..our parents are retirement age .. we care about this !)

What about high unemployment ? This is real, don't discount the impact it has on people. Address their concerns. It creates a more level playing field. If you are undocumented and can undercut their wages by working under the table they are worried. If you are documented you will not be working for less and possibly being hired for low wage jobs they could get. You also have increased earning power once you are legally working -- that means more purchases -- which is good for the economy and good for jobs.

What about tuition/ college ? You are already going to college -- so how would this increase competition ?? You won't qualify for most tuition breaks/aid etc.... so how are you at an advantage ??
Also, don't go on and on about how brilliant you are -- that is all great, but the POINT is how you will use that brilliance to give back to the country.

Okay ?
