Guys, do you think that adding a new provision to the DREAM Act, to send more troops to help secure the border, could make some moderate Republicans change their position in favor of the DREAM Act?

Nope. 60-70% of Illegals are people who overstay a visa anyways. Republicans know this, but the American public does not. While border security is more than just an immigration issue it is also a National security issue it will not solve the issue with Illegal Immigrants in the U.S.

I know it will not solve the problem with illegal immigration, but i always hear from these moderate republicans and conservative democrats complains that Dream act does nothing to secure the border and stop people from crossing the border, maybe, adding a provision like this could make the bill more appealing for them.

They don't actually mean those things. Even if we seal the border, they still won't vote for the DREAM.

If they add back the Retroactive provision and/or age cal back to 35 then I think it will pass.

I think any changes that appear to help us will make things harder to pass.

My concern with a Border Security provision is that the demand is always to secure the Border First. Which could take a year, or 10, or 20.

Even if the idea is to spend "x" $/troops/feet of fence before starting on DREAM --- it won't happen for years - if ever. The federal government moves realllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyy slowly.
