What are the chances of CIR in 2011 should Obama enact a moratorium on all deportations until Congress presents him a bill?

If we couldn't get a CIR through when we had control of the Presidency, the Senate, AND the House, why would you think we can get it through when the Republicans control the House???

The retarded Dems blew their chances on this great (possibly once in a lifetime) opportunity.

There is no way the Republicans will vote for a CIR that includes any legalization path.

As for the moratorium, Obama will never do it. He knows his 2012 re-election chance is going downhill, he's already centralizing his policy to appease the Republicans (tax-cuts).

As I see it now, if we don't pass DA before the lame-duck ends, we have to wait for 2013 with another huge Democratic win to see a CIR passed.

CIR isnt going anywhere anytime soon. nothing will happen until after the next elections, 2012. and as far as obama enact such moratorium? pipe dream. if anything, he'll increase enforcement and deporation rate, as he has done for the past 2 years.

Seriously -- it isn't just DREAM, or immigration - how about DADT, or Health Care, or ..um ANYTHING. The Republicans have gotten their way on everything they want simply by digging in their heels and saying f* you while the Dems scurry about appeasing and bowing and scraping and hoping reason will prevail if they just compromise enough. ick.

Yeah, there is no way. Obama might as well ask Boehner and McConnell to adopt him as his new two dads. He completely lacks balls, and on immigration it is the harsh truth that he is actually deporting more than Bush did without anything in return.

It would not surprise me if he joined the Republican party. It was so obvious how hollow he is as a politician, I can't believe anybody ever voted for him.

If Obama issues an executive order, it'll only last until the next president overturns it.

Say like Obama loses the 2012 election and a Republican President gets elected, we'll be all screw because the Republican president could overturn the executive order. Furthermore, if everyone registers for temporary protected status given by Obama, the Republican president now has record of every freaking undocumented immigrants in America. This information will definitely help FACILITATE DEPORTATION of everyone.

People, you shouldn't be myopic and ask for an executive order from Obama. The best thing is CIR from Congress.

Very good chances of passing CIR in 2011 since Dems are majority in the Senate for another 2 years and Reid is still the Senate majority speaker. On top of this, we have Pelosi has a minority House speaker. I think we will see a massive border security bill with a very strict bill for the undocumented.

The purpose of a moratorium would put pressure on Congress to pass reform. It is evidently obvious that reform will take place in the Congress. I do think that if Obama was serious about this issue he would have kept his promise, but what can you expect from a politician. Thanks for the input.
