I am a new member but I have been coming to the Dream Act Portal since earlier this year for information. I am concerned that the bill currently does not provide for all minors. As far as I know, the definition of a minor is anyone below the age of 18, which is considered the legal age of adulthood or the age of majority. The current age requirement states "must have entered the US before the age of 16". There are undocumented immigrants, who entered the US at age 16 or 17, I being one of them. It would be a shame for us to fight for this great bill to be passed and then not qualify.

I don't know if this has been discussed already, but something needs to be done. Time is running out. From what I know about policy making, changes like this can still be made. I believe the bill needs to state an age requirement of "must have entered the US before the age of 18". Any ideas on how this would be possible?

Are you on crack?????? If they made any changes to the bill it would have to be voted by the house again. And go to conference with the senate. That would take a long time!!!!!!

I'm sorry if that leaves you out! This bill has many flaws that we would like to change, but we can't risk undoing the progress we have made in the house to suit your needs.

If this bill passes the Senate without any changes it will go straight for the Presidents desk...... I hope you can understand why am such an asshole!!!!!

there will be no changes made to the version that passed the house. one of many reasons is that it is an amendment to another bill, and as such an amendment cannot be amended. second, if anything, they would wan tto restrict teh age requirement further, not broaden it as there are already GOP opposition that the current scope is too broad.

It really isn't possible to make changes at this point in time, without wasting what little time we have left in the Senate.
