thanks, it's refreshing that you find that courageous. from that, i want to do something about it in my school. i just found out that there isn't any single club in our school that advocates nor serves ab540 students when i inquired at our information desk. i'll definitely be starting one.

well the way I see it is that he's just a regular guy. He may be a college professor, but I mean he still has his own ideas/beliefs. Try not to see him as this superior guy just cause your paying him to teach you. You know he is wrong, just like we know he is wrong. Don't worry about it man, there will always be people like that. It might just have been the environment at the moment that got you all emotional. 6 billion people in the world and i'm pretty sure only a small percentage is like that. My advice, next time don't let your emotions get the best of you, but I do agree on walking out. That's your duty if your not satisfied with the class. I do it all the time, but in my case b/c i'm sleepy, lol.

In response to your question: you weren't too emotional, I can only imagine how you felt with the whole classroom talking crap about illegal immigration, you are a very courageous person to have stood up and let them know how you feel. That guy shouldn't even be allowed to teach!

I really hope you do. You can always count on us to help you out. Not only will you be helping undocumented brothers and sisters, but your resume will also look better

On a serious note though, you will be surprised how many students you will be helping out. Sadly, many AB 540 students don't know about the dream act and other issues involving immigration. By making more aware of these issues they will become more active and more knowledgeable. Most importantly, you are giving a voice to undocumented students, something that your school doesn't have

I was in a VERY similar situation as you where. What pissed me off the most, the teacher was of Hispanic descent. I was like wooow, how the fuck do you think your ass got to be born here?! But I just kept my mouth shut. I totally understand what you had to go through though. It's uncomfortable and really heart breaking to have to sit through that.

Dude I can totally relate to you. Something like that happened to me last year. It was during my US History class and when the subject was about immigration, like literally all eyes were on me. People knew of my status because I "came out" and well, the feeling is not very pleasant. There were these three guys in there, one really, like literally racist white dude and two hispanics. I didn't care for the white guy, but what made me sad was that the two hispanics would do that to me. What pissed me off was that the teacher never said anything about it and just pretended nothing had happened. I wanted to cry once but I said, Fuck them, I'm not gonna let them put me down. Just stay strong bro.
