Agreed *and* proven (see post in the news section re: Republicans plan to derail lame duck session over spending bill). Excluding people was never going to buy votes; whoever decided to concede on the exclusion made a HUGE mistake. Not only is it not getting any 'yes' votes, but the Republicans now found a new thing to use as an excuse to run the clock down. They cut the future of dozens of thousands who fought for this for a decade of their lives. Moreover, they opened the door to lowering the age limit even further if this new version doesn't pass for any reason.

The people who turn/turned 30 this month must be sweating bullets.

Well it doesn't matter. It is what it is. Take it or leave it, literally. Could try to fight to expand the bill, but then I guarantee the whole thing will go down. I think some people just have to take it for the team

all you care is about you and you are not fooling anybody. Take it or leave it? Take what? Are you ready to see DREAM go down because it helps CIR? I mean since the argument will be "another amnesty" when CIR comes around if DREAM passes. Are you willing to take one for the team? Don't be a hypocrite and ridiculous. Advocate all you want but don't knock other people for trying to find a way for themselves just like YOU are.

Most people don't see this. They say "forget about it" and "its done with". But listen to their tone when they mention taking out the school part and leaving just the military section. lol yo its so funny to watch. People start having heart attacks! Interesting isn't it?

I'm just saying, 30-35 have earned a voice on this issue. Don't try to marginalize your elders. And these are just the facts ur!

lol "take one for the team." Unfortunately non DREAM beneficiaries should do the same. Lets face it, republicans want immigration reform. But not the same way WE define immigration reform.

Ask a Republican like John McCain, assuming the borders were "secure", who he'd want to legalize. A 22 year old fresh out of the Military going into college, or a 55 year old whose best years are coming to an end.

Yes I sound harsh, and like a bigot probably. But that is the reality. Our window keeps getting narrower and narrower and DREAM Simply won't fit. I am going to hate saying these words, honestly, I am. We either save what we can to benefit America, or it is noone at all. I love you guys (the original DREAMers), I appreciate all your hard work. And if it doesn't pass we are all in this together, if it does sorry is all I can say. But please do not assume you deserve this more than anyone else. Many of you supported DREAM even after the 35 cap was put on, didn't care until the cap was moved to 30. You might be 32, or 33, but just because of your age does it seem fair to assume you deserve it more than the 24 year old who campaigned HARDER than you did even though you campaigned LONGER?

Honestly I wish we could keep some aspects of S. 729, or even the Senate bill preceding that one. But the reality is we are half way done. Win or loose we are almost finished here. We love you guys, but please, don't want DREAM to fail to benefit yourselves. If Agjobs was the only reform that was ever passed I would still be happy, because that makes life easier for people facing the same problem. When someone posts they are getting their green card after 12 years I do feel jealous, but happier because they won't have to continue facing this nightmare.

I stopped reading after you compared a 30-35 year old to a 55year old joining the military. Those are not the facts and you know it. You are either purposefully distorting the facts or your are just delusional(in a good way ofcourse).

My previous responses were not attempts to attract ad hominem nonsense.

Don't assume its an attack on older illegals. It may not be a welcoming argument, but it is an issue we are currently facing. A lot of us here have parents who are also Illegal. As we age, they age. And republicans will not want to legalize much older generation. They are already complaining about legalizing 29 year old kids.

Also, where did I say anything about 55 year old joining the military? Unless you are an officer who has been serving for a long time already, you won't be in there that long. US Army has the biggest cap and that is 42 for Enlisted.

I am not assuming anything. What I see is an attempt to distort by citing a hyperbole that includes some opinion on which "illegals"/undocumented Mccain will prefer.

But if I may go back to my initial response; it dealt with how many Repub votes the Dems gained by lowering the age cap instead of going for what republicans fear the most. This is chain migration, citizenship (or as they see it, future democratic voters, and unlimited numbers of future kids coming before 15 and guaranteed a citizenship).

I don't mean to be so blunt in lieu of whats going on but these are the real obstacles. Age was a red herring.

I concede, you are correct, I am the one at fault for making petty assumptions. It was ill-advised to say what I did. Nevertheless, it is worth noting we see eye to eye on the subject of "less equals better" for the Republican Party. Despite tonight's banter I look forward to reinforcing the DREAM Act's and its followers core values in the struggle for legalization for all potential beneficiaries who wish to better their community and country.

I'm one of those that will no longer be eligible due to the age cut off. I just got my masters degree in the Summer and I'm really bummed about the age limit. However, as sad as my heart is for the change in age limit I do think about all those that will benefit and will have it so much easier than me.....and hope for the best.
