LoL, you can live like a king in your country. Are you ready to give up though?

Just make sure to stay healthy!
A degree is never wasted and you accomplished more than many US citizens.
Your are half way through your dream...

You could be correct, I am over 30 and staying.
Unless a job in Canada lands in my lap and I'm gone and never coming back unless I'm visiting friends/family.

Some people say keep fighting: well I see the situation now worse than it was in 2006 and 2007. It is moving in the opposite direction. With the tea party and all that. Plus all of these new republican governors about to pass SB1070 laws
I hear your point. I am 32 myself, but can they win the battle that easy?
This all depends if what your parents fought for was accomplished.

the only thing that would keep me here is the prospect of not ever seeing my family or friends again.
I felt the same way when I graduated, but 8 years later down the road nothing has been accomplished by staying. You can always come back and visit if you choose to leave right?

American representative have their own priorities and we may be at the bottom of their list but usually those priorities that they have are being dictated by lobbyists backed up by huge corporations with no interest for the American or the pseudo-American(us). I will not be angry at myself for "not being proactive" I was quite active, etc, but just having a ton of calls and lots of action clearly doesn't cut it, we need different kinds of action you can't just ram through this subject you have to find ways to get through. Of course we can't be angry at the country itself, that just seems illogical but I believe you're wrong when you state that the politicians talk for what Americans want, it's been clear that they don't.

But the rest 3/4ths of your post is pretty spot on.
I mean being proactive out of the scope of relying on someone else's decisions (politics) since you have little to no control or influence on that area. Forge your own path with what's currently available to you. The passing of the DREAM act should only be an addition, a game changer of your future plans for the better and nothing else.

Politicians don't talk for what Americans want, they talk for what they NEED and they are pretty effective about it despite your opinion on the involvement of corporations, PACs, and lobbyists. Although it might seem to you that Americans "want" to help millions of undocumented individuals the reality is that they don't need to, and you can tell this easily because despite the political differences between parties no mob is revolting for us and they probably never will because their cunning leaders know how to keep the people calm and happy. You just seem biased because you are caught up in an issue that concerns you and impacts your life in many different ways, and the whole tumult that comes from your involvement in this issue makes it seem like everyone else around you is also involved. The average American doesn't know and doesn't care about us, otherwise you wouldn't have to raise any awareness or be persistent with the representatives.

We will be dealt with when the time is right or when we start fucking things up. We are no concern for anyone since we are model "citizens" and pay taxes. Now switch your attention to the actual immigration system, border violence, relentless illegal immigration, daily deaths of people trying to cross over, there simply are some issues that have greater intrinsic precedence and DREAM isn't one of them. If we solved everything from a moral perspective America would collapse.

And as for Banished:

You hit it right on the head. I think that people here kind of live in a bubble with like minded individuals. They don't realize there is a whole element to this country they haven't really seen. No one knows what life is like for a bunch of rednecks in Montana. They probally only see latinos on the news on Border Wars or on Fox jumping over fences. I can't say I blame them for having that type of view: people all over the world have a view of the US which is different then it really is as well. And people from south of the border have a false view of life here too.

I am just thankful to live in the US regardless of our situation because it will never turn into something like this (Youtube). We definitely have it much better than other illegal immigrants living in other countries and our opportunities for growth are immense.
