Just curious. If you knew the deal and had a year or so to prepare, would you have left before you triggered the 10 year ban or at least the 3 year one? Or would you have rode it out.

I guess I'd still ride it out. I think some sort of immigration reform will occur in the next few years.

Yes because I thought of all kinds of scenarios.. I knew by hearing stories of other people... I happened to be in the worst one I hoped not to come true. I had million different plans back then some were very unrealistic.... I knew it was ganna be a gamble back then and I now know that I didn't win.
The stories of other people became my own.. I spend all day thinking about this today but it just feels so surreal.. having a hard time embracing the reality..

I was legal when I was 18, so I probably would be bummed out when I become illegal at 19 lol, 20 now.

Seriously, who gives a shit about the 10 year ban? At 18, with only a high school degree, your chances of getting a visa to come back, without being able to prove that you could support yourself, are very very small. It makes more sense to just stay here, get a degree and then leave. After 4-5 years in another country, with legal papers, the last thing on your mind would be coming back here to reconnect with people you'd mostly forget.

I would much rather be able to go back to the day I graduated college, and fucking leave with the 10 year ban. The only thing I regret is wasting the last several years in limbo, waiting for a day like today.

I would have. But I found it out when I was late 18, while applying for college.

It was too late then.

Yeah I think that's the problem too, people don't know the law until after it goes into effect
