Based on what he didn't say and didn't do - the Dream Act

We're not saying he wouldn't sign the Dream Act. He would and he would support it. But he would not fight for it.

To him, if it comes to his desk, it comes. If not, whatever.

Does it hurt us to try and force his position? For the first time you have a House that passed the Dream Act. The majority of Senators 55 voted for the Dream Act. That says the will of the government wants the Dream Act. A political tactic in the Senate A(filibuster) prevented the will of the people (majority). I don't really get the political risk, he has the congress wanted the Dream Act. Did anyone ever try this direction or just speculation that it is futile?

No. He can't do executive order. There is no reason why he has to do one.
It's a political risk. He will definitely lose his re-election. In fact, the majority of both parties disapprove the executive order. It will create tension. Beside, the supreme court could have rule in the favor of the opposition.

This country is full of checking point.

It means nothing. We are moving toward the next congress soon.
Both the House and Senate continues to be in lame duck, because neither are super-majority. But with simple majority, yes, Republican has it in both chambers.

The fact is, Republicans have to work with the Democratic on several agendas, if Democratic also do filibuster.

Because the supreme court agreed with him.

Congress was established for a reason. If congress doesn't want it, then the president would be at fault for forcing the bill through.

We can't compare this to the civil war/slavery because the civil war began due to the south not wanting the Republicans in power when they had the majority. In this case, we have the minority, and if we're to criticize the south, then we must submit.
President Eisenhower also used an Executive Order for Operation Wetback.

Lets face it, things were much MUCH different back then, not even the least bit comparable.
Guys please drop this Executive Order stuff, it just isn't happening. He has been asked many times. I want no part of chasing fairy tales, I want to mount up and deal with reality right now. Unfortunately, that might be somewhere other than here.

The President should spend the next two years working on immigration reform and border security if he wants to get the Latino community back on his side today was a blow to everyone especially to Obama since he promised he would pass Dream Act in his first year. I still have hope that he will do something about it and that Dream will pass in the next two years but to wait all that time wasted our youth passing us by makes me very angry and lost. Going back to my country is just not an option for me since there is nothing there for me and I know that I would be miserable if I went back. I will keep moving forward and I hope that everyone else does it too. We can win this we were only five votes short maybe next time it'll be different.

Guys, we are illegal. We shouldn't even be here. So EO is totally BS to the US citizen. They would be so angry. No one will ever file an EO for us, unless it's during war time, I would say the government would rather to keep millions of us cleaned and checked.

But war time? Ha, pray North Korea attacks Pearl Harbor.

And I totally agree with lostpath. The next two years he has to work on immigration, and the economy.

I'm pretty disappointed to. But everyone saying harsh things about Obama kinda makes me frustrated. There's a system of checks and balances and right now the White House is concerned with the economy. I dunno if you guys have noticed but it's still pretty friggin crappy. I don't blame Obama for the Dream Act not passing. I blame American politics and the Republican party with their really absurd ideas about what the Dream Act would mean. They just see the word "illegal" and "amnesty" in the same sentence and they just want to shut it down.

He doesn't have to though. If you think about it, all he has to do is dangle the issue around during the next election, and it will work like a charm. Doesn't have to have any real intent, just look like he does.
