If I remember correctly Boxer was in California and didn't vote - there was a gigantic fire or other state emergency going on at the time, a genuine one. I don't recall the exact circumstance- but I remember it was hugely disappointing.

The thing about the 5 democrats that voted against it -- remember they could have voted no on the actual bill if that is what they wanted. They JUST had to vote for cloture to prevent a filibuster- that's it. They could have done it, so could have any of the Republicans who had mixed feelings they didn't have to vote for the bill itself. So shame on all of them.

AND Reid should have let them filibuster - it would have made them look stronger in any case.
