They knew I wasn't going to stay here and wait for the DA to one day pass. It was going to happen, I was never very optimistic about the DA passing, I was just postponing the inevitable. I was going to leave last year during summer but I didn't.

I was looking at some info about going to France:

- ter passagens de ida e volta.
- ter no mínimo 60 euros por dia enquanto estiver lá.
- ter reserva de hotel pelo período da sua permanência.
- ter seguro viagem no valor mínimo de 30.000 euros de cobertura de saúde.
- ter cartão de crédito internacional ou levar cartão de viagens (Visa Travel Money).

Basically once you step foot in European soil they want to know if you have a plane ticket to go back home, and if you can sustain yourself so you're not a burden to them. Did you cover all this?

I have ticket but it does not take off from Paris, when I asked the people in the consulate they said it was fine, a lot of people do this. They land one country go visit another one and probably take off from there. As for anything else just bring enough money, the rest they really don't give a shit about.

TIP!

When if you have any question about anything else and would rather ask a consulate, you should go there and not call. I called the consulate and this guy was just being the biggest asshole in the world, and then I went the next day to make the appointment to talk to someone, a very nice lady just answered everything for me, I didn't even had to make an appointment. Don't call, huge dicks.

Well, I wish you luck.

Maybe I'll be on the same boat couple of years down the road. How long can you be a man without a nation?

To think that some of us just wanted ONE day, ONE day of legal status to file that paperwork with a recruiter here in the US, huh? Life is something else...

I can only hope to find a handsome Frenchman :P

And thank you, I hope I get in....side a Frenchmen. jk

If I am able to join, it will be a long time before I can even come in here and tell you guys about it. Basic training is 4 months long, and then go for more training for another 4 months. After I leave I will probably wont post for almost a year and an half.

Best of luck, hope you find what you are looking for. I want to join the US Army but, no offense, under no circumstance would I join another country's military, including my own.

Regardless, best of luck and keep us posted!
