I was really looking on to the passage of Dream Act this year..but since it failed..

Im seriously looking into other options

I finished pretty much all courses that I need to take at a community college

and currently just working since I cant transfer to a 4 year university with

out of state tuition.

I am really thinking about going back, but from what I've heard, its

a much complicated process even to transfer to universities in Korea.

Is there anyone also considering to go back?

After seeing epic failure of our endeavor of past 10 years, I decided to go back to South Korea this March. Since I am turning 28 years old, there is no other choice than going back to my home country before it gets too late (age limit for DA could be lower than 30 next time, or I doubt that it will ever be brought up again until next Presidential election. Even if DA gets mentioned in next Presidential Election, how long will it take to get even voted on the congress, jeez...).

Anyways I have graduated from SFSU 4 years ago, and I am some what confident that I can use my degree in South Korea to achieve my dream there.
One thing that I am aware of is the military duty every grown Korean born male must do.
It will be 8 weeks of basic training and 21 weeks of service.
I am sure there will be awful lot of question before I serve military, because I have not been presented in South Korea for more than 14 years, but other than that it will be all right since I am the Korean citizen no matter what I did in the past.

One recommendation I can give to you is get your degree quickly and achieve something in US, so that you don't fall behind people in South Korea. It is a country that seeks people with achievement, and if you cannot prove yourself with any certificate or diploma, you won't be desired there.

Durbin and Bennett said they will bring up the DA this year.

You do know that all other versions which did not fail but have been brought up have the Retroactive Benefits.

Don't forget about CIR.

DA_User you just lost all your credibility when you said bennett will bring up DA this year. But again, you never had any.

"Bring up" or "introducing" do not mean that it will get voted immediately. As we know, there has been introducing of DA many times, and we waited many years to get it voted.

I am saying, yea DA will get passed eventually, but it is not gonna happen any time soon. For those of you who are turning into 30's, we have to make quick decision of what to do. At least get Bachelor or Master degrees while we are here at US and find a better future elsewhere. I am just giving out realistic advice, because decision is very complicated for South Korean males who must serve mandatory military.

I only have Associates Degree and I don't think I will be able to get a

bachelors degree here b/c in my state they don't offer instate tuition.

I am actually searching for universities in Korea where they accept

associates degree from foreign nations but then again even if they do, the

chances are very slim.

Also, the military matter is complicating things up even more..

So, when you return, do you have to serve the military right away? or

can you delay it for a while?
