Lincoln Diaz-Balart, the Florida Republican who retired from Congress this year and has long championed immigration reform, suggested Republicans need to work their tone and message.
"The decibels have to be lower," he said. "It doesn't' matter how good are policy positions are, if we are perceived as being anti-immigrant, we cannot be the majority party."
Diaz-Balart also urged congressional leaders to quickly take up a comprehensive immigration bill that a bipartisan group of legislators has quietly worked on for months. Diaz-Balart promised the new proposal would address previous concerns about people in the country illegally earning residency before those who follow the rules.

That's great news. I hope the discrete bipartisan effort has included major House and Senate Republicans.

So it looks like a very good chance of CIR passing this year.

OK, I understand your pain of DA not passing, but what are you doing to make your life a little better? I don't know what the drama is between you and the other users but maybe you should try other avenues in life that doesn't require waiting hopelessly for something that seems impossible. Suck it up and move to another country if you aged out. Heck, I would... Dunno why you're wasting time here if you don't qualify for DA.

This divide a conquer thing is a classic way to unravel support. Trying to change the status quo has a zen quality that forces us rise above the petty shit. Every supporter of DREAM counts.
