So here is the deal

I bought an Amtrak Ticket from DC to New Orleans Louisiana for this thursday,
and a return one from New Orleans to DC with a transfer in Chicago.
As I talked to my parents about it, they're deeply discouraging me from the trip cause of the risks. Do you guys think it as risky as they say?
I am planning on sending my paperwork this upcoming week, since I am married to a USC and we finally got everything together. My parents are saying if something were to happen I would be putting my soon-to-be paperwork at risk.
Also would i be able to fly more freely if i have some kind of paper saying that they received my application at least and my paperwork is in the process, lets say at the end of february?

Nothing is impt. then ur own safety and to be here. So, if you have a valid paperwork for your adjustment, go ahead and submit that A.S.A.P. As you never know, wht can happen and can screw your any good case. I know a child who filed their paperwork for adjustment thru marriage, but due to little timing tht child was sent into proceeding, and that really prolonged their case and lost one year in the process. Finally got the status adjusted but now everything is behind a year, you know 10 year green card and then d citizenship n all. So, having said that time is very impt. Don't waste it and do wht u need to do to get adjusted. Good luck)

I was wondering, if i mail my paper work by the first week of february, if i take a plane lets say the 25th of february, if I were to be asked further questions about my status.. can i still be deported? would it affect my case?

from what i've heard, filing paperwork does not protect u from being deported, i wouldn't do it..

You have to show proof that your papers are "in process". However if you decide to murder , rape and/or commit any deportable crime against humanity then you can kiss your paperwork good bye.
