Recently, my boyfriend's mother invited me and my boyfriend out to California to visit. (We live in AZ)
She has bought two airplane tickets and I'm under so much pressure to go.
I would really love to go, but I am not sure if it's worth taking the risk.

I have a valid foreign passport, but it looks NOTHING like me in the picture.
Every time I try using it I get told that it is not me.

I have read through many other posts and they say that using a College ID is not valid if you are 18+. Thing is, I look way young...about 16ish. Since my College ID does not have a birth date on it, I miiiiight be able to get through if the man that checks it does not connect the dots that it is a college ID (obviously over 18 )

My boyfriend is a Caucasian USC and I am a white Mexican, so we don't really look suspicious ( we all know they often go by profiling )
He says they won't say anything cause I look like I couldn't even hurt a fly haha

I don't know, should I not go? or go, but what should I use?

I don't mean to be rude, or racist, I'm just being realistic.
As much as we don't like it, we can't ignore the fact that they look not only at race, but all over appearance when they try and figure out "status".

My suggestion is to show them your college ID and passport together.

Go. According to you, nothing will happen because you don't fit the profile.

No, I'm not saying nothing can happen but it is less likely. So would it be for a Canadian, or one from a predominantly Caucasian descent.
Let's not be ignorant. They look at that shit. It's very wrong.

I was once in a situation involving border patrol at a checkpoint in southern AZ where they literally separated us into two groups. One with all the "white" looking ones and one with the Latinos. Of course they didn't say that out loud, they said it was "random". Luckily the Latinos where all citizens, and where let go after they showed their I.D's. They didn't ask me or any of the "white" looking ones to show ID, they just asked us basic questions like what city we lived in and what High School we went to. After, they let us go on our way.
