Real ID Act has been extended until January of 2013.

Quote:
The Department of Homeland Security said Friday that it is moving the May 11 deadline for implementation of the Real ID Act to January 15, 2013, so that cash-strapped states will have more time to add security features to driver's licenses and ensure that license holders are who they say they are.

After 2013, we can't fly anymore? Even with a state issued ID or passport?

In short, yes. If a state complies with Real ID, then don't expect to be able to use a state issued ID or passport to fly anymore.

That doesn't seem to differ much from the requirements for the Real ID that I've heard of so far...
They would issue a special kind of ID for people on visas and this ID would expire the same day the visa does. Just like like IceCreamPony stated earlier, The REAL ID Act was supposed to invalidate the licenses for air travel as of May 11th.
