Wa Drivers License

So my friend went and took the WA drivers test. He passed but they told him he will be sent a form that he had to fill out to check his residency. And he has to come in with the documents that proves his residency. And if it is correct he will be given a drivers license.

Has anyone gone through this process in WA? what do they check and ask you?



O, and by the way, I have to renew my license, it's expiring next month. When you go renew your license do they ask you anything? require me to provide any documents??

they check to see if your commiting fraud, literally check everything on the person's proof of residency is legit.

renewal is the same process. you just dont take the test.

I highly recommend not to do it unless you got 3 months to spare.

My brothers passed it and they never got asked. I just passed mine today actually and they said i'd get it within 1 or 2 weeks. Then again we do have Social security numbers.

If you don't have a social get ready to wait 3-5 months. I have a friend who just got her paper license today.

What if you have a license from other state? How long is it going to take?

damn...some of DOL workers harass you if they think you're illegal too.

If you're renewing then it's a faster process. Also, having a SSN helps. It used to be easier to go up there and get your DL, but recently they've begun to get stricter. I just cancelled my trip because of this and I was actually planning on moving there.

I considered it too, in the end I think most of us realize there's a world outside the US, just get your education and be free

I took my test, passed. They sent me some stuff, I faxed it in and now I'm waiting for them to call me. Then I'll have to go over there, do an interview and then hopefully, God willing, get my license.

However, my mom renewed hers and changed the address to be the same as mine and they didn't ask for anything. She literally walked up with proof of residency and all they did was verbally ask her what her new address was, gave her the paper license and told her that her physical license will be mailed in 2-3 weeks. Very simple process
