He's a class act, that Dick Durbin. Also, hopefully Lugar will get re-elected; that guy's got real intestinal fortitude for unflinchingly supporting our cause. Either way, this won't pass the House.

Why should Hispanics vote for useless Democrats in 2012? So that we hope for immigration reform in Obama's second 100 first days and then get disappointed again? Fuck that. The end.
Sweet Jesus what is wrong with people like you. So because the Dems tried to get stuff done with 59 votes out of the 60 they required in the senate you are so quick to condemn them as cowards? So because 5 "blue dog" democrats voted against the 54 other democrats last year against the DREAM Act you're condemning the whole party to political ruin? Lets not forget that the overwhelming majority of republicans voted against the Dream act every single time it's been up for a vote...So i'll ask you and every political dilettante on this forum; Are republicans going to do a better job at trying to handle immigration? Think about it; re-writing the 14th amendment, deporting every illegal regardless if they came here against their will, passing the 10 year ban on re-entry if you broke an immigration law...so yeah "punish" the democrats for trying to pass immigration reform and failing-At least they made the frakking effort to pass some sort of comprehensive bill rather than some draconian piece of crap...Seriously, it's people like you-citizen or not-that have no clue on how the system works that revert to the fingerprinting idiocy that is the current American political discourse.

Where's my like button?

I agree with many of your points. It infuriates me how dumb some people sound in here this forum. It's like they haven't taken basic government in their high school.

Law of Attraction, keep thinking negative and you will only attract despair to your lives, and this bill will never pass if we keep up the negativity. In other words, grow up.

Do we have a new strategy for this bill? Calling and faxing are not going to work.

Are the Republicans going to do a better job trying to handle immigration? Of course not. Republicans are pure evil and I hope they burn in hell.

What I'm saying is that the Democrats are completely incompetent and cannot accomplish jack shit on this issue. They should have taken in on sooner when we had Kennedy instead of Brown and Burris instead of Kirk. They should haven taken in on sooner before the damn Tea Party gained popularity and scared the living crap out of every Republican, forcing them to the far right. Maybe then we could have gotten a couple of more votes from Republicans that voted for it in 2007 like Collins, Snowe, Brownback, Hutchison, and Hatch and Democrat Nelson of Nebraska.

The Democrats make weak and empty gestures to support immigration reform for Latino support. Look at the Republicans in Congress right now. As crazy as they are, they fight for conservative issues so hard. What do Democrats do? Jack.

Don't count on the DREAM Act, don't count on politicians. Count on marriage.

I have liberal views and hate racist Republicans but ABC has a point. The Democrats have only made false promises and whiffed at every chance they had to pass the Dream Act. At least Republicans act (unfortunately) when they set their minds to it. All the Democrats have done is make false promises on acting on immigration as a whole.
