Hi, i have a question hope somebody knows where i can get help.
My brother got arrested 17 days ago while driving home from work. He got pulled over by the cops because he matched the description of somebody who had just robbed a store. He was taken out of hes car by force, first they let the k9 dog go at him and then the cops beat him up and fractured hes arm and opened up hes head with something the cops had. On Wednesday he had court and told him to wait until today because they did not have any evidence yet against him. He went to court today and the case got dismissed because they had made a mistake and it wasn't him. Now on top of everything hes being detained by immigration after the court let him go.
I just found this out an hour ago.
I have already called the ACLU to let them know of this, but for some reason you have to wait a few days to get a response.
My question is: does anybody know of anything else i can do to halt the deportation, somebody i can call?
Hes civil rights wore violated big time and on top of all hes now facing deportation.
This happened here in Los Angeles .
Anybody know of a good lawyer? Theres no way my family can afford to pay for a lawyer right now.
Anyone that can point me in the right direction?
Thank You.....

Deferred action might be his best bet right now, if all charges were dismissed..he can file a law suit against the city of LA. Even though he's undocumented, he still has rights. Hang in there and good luck.

Wow, that is some crazy stuff. Well the first thing he shouldn't do is sign any voluntary departure paperwork or anything that ICE gives him. Then after that you guys should try to find a good Immigration attorney for him. Try to sue the LAPD and maybe you he can apply for a U visa. I don't know how that works so i'm partly talking out of my ass but theirs has to be something he can do. Try to contact organizations, theirs MALDEF and some other ones.

Tell him to keep his mouth shut. That's his right and he shouldn't consult with anybody except the people he hires and the people he trusts.

Get a lawyer.

Hi,

It is critical that he keeps silence as much as he can and also get a QUALIFIED immigration attoney.

Read the following article: How to find a lawyer
