I'm talking to all DREAMers, me included.

Every single one of you who is angry and insulting. You who express annoyance and anger.

Have you thought about how others perceive you?

People want to help us, but they look at how we behave. Will they feel like helping angry and bitter people? Who wants to help miserable whiners, bitchers and moaners?

We have a right to complain. We have been dealt a bad hand. We have been cheated by the system. Fate has stolen from us and we have a right to be angry.

But put yourself in the shoes of the people who want to help you. Imagine yourself in their position viewing you. As a politician looking at how DREAMers act, would you want to help them? Or would you get turned off by their behavior?

With all the shit some of us are talking about Obama, the democrats, even the republicans, can you imagine talking shit to their face and then asking them to vote to pass the DREAM Act?

Impossible.

Learn what works.

With all due respect my friend, being nice or pleading for sympathy has not worked either. But, I will say that Senator Durbin and Representative Luis Guitierrez do deserve our unconditional respect. Obama needs to do more, and you know it. So, if I decide to lash out on him in a civilized way, I reserve the right to do so.

^^ agreed. I think we should leave room for USC to sympathize us. However, rather than showing compassion like ppl would to the kid in the picture, it's more important that they understand where we're coming from. Most USC don't understand why we can't just go back and then come back. Even more important than this, start pressuring politicians with whatever that we have. The best argument that we have against Republicans right now is, if you block CIR/DA, fastest growing population: Latinos/minorities will turn their back on you.

Don't just start begging on the street. Tell them WHY we can't work, WHY we can't go back, WHY we need to stay.

Oh and this thread doesn't belong in the News section..

What does a picture of a hungry African kid have to do with dreamers? Sympathy is getting us no where. Oh and this belongs in the Lounge lol.

I agree partially with the OP. But lets face the fact. If you were brought here when you were only 6 months old or even younger let alone 12 years old, this may be extremely difficult to digest. I think up until now, we clearly know who is fighting genuinely for us and we have to behave appropriately with them and give them thanks. With the others, those on the fence senators who have voted for the bill in the past to name a few, we have to FIGHT them eye for eye and hold them accountable because our communities played an important role in electing them. To all those Obama supporters who have been cursing at him as of late including myself, I ask you throw yourselves behind him once again. He's definitely not against DA or CIR. It's just that he has a wall of Republicans preventing him from doing that. We can all see cracks in this wall. It is going to crumble down very soon. So, just be humble and support those leaders who genuinely care about the issue and take the fight to the opposition with no mercy.

We have been doing that but they're not reaching out to us.

We've maxed out our reaching hard capabilities. Camping out in their offices, clogging the switchboards, filling up email inboxes.

We've been reaching out, but too many of us have been reaching out with a closed fist. Showing anger at someone never motivates them to do anything.

dude i think you have to wake up do you know how long politicians have toyed with the idea of DA? and so far its only gotten worse, if you want to live in your imaginary world go ahead but i suggest you have something better going for you when you get pulled over at some secure community check or a rapid response team boarding your bus the way they do at many places around the country these days, theres nothing wrong with calling senators and representatives on their unfullfilled promises theyre the ones making a promise in order to win favor with a certain group of the voters and then dont keep their end of the bargain, do you think it would serve any purpose to overlook that, to not pressure about what was promised, or to ask for even a rational discussion that isnt onesided the way it always ends to be?*because all that stuff ur talking about, ill tell you who really knows how to deal all that, its anti migration groups, and they sure know how to push and call senators on their flipflops and turn things their way and theyve gotten results, if dreamers dont even put up a fight one day youll be awaken by a knock at your door, lets see if those guys care how much of a nice guy you are, the fact is theres alot of people who dont want you here and they have rights to vote, all dreamers want is a chance, things are changing very rapidly and they dont show signs of improving, just look at how germany rounded up their undesirable groups in ww2, have you ever heard of operation wetback? and seriously whats up with the learn what works and the image of that black kid? im really missing something what exactly are you referring to that works? how hungry kid charities have 'helped' kids in the third world with all those a dollar a day commercials?

You're all bugging out. The whole system is broken and rigged. If you actually think that you have a voice in a government that doesn't represent you, you're a damn fool.

Even if you were pleading to a government that represents you, you'd get nowhere until life becomes more or less homogenized or there are HUGE profits involved.

With a so called economic collapse in the horizon and the impact that oil prices are having on every aspect of everyone's lives, DA is unfortunately not a priority. Buying into the propaganda and campaign promises is demented. DA will pass but we will be way over 30.

It's not worth waiting. Do your thing, go to school, gather cash, get married, etc. [loopholes ;0]but the Dream is over. Theres an enormous world out there and getting old in a cage is foolish.

I'm glad to read that the dreamers that left this shitty situation are prospering or/and living a more adequate life and I hope this site has more stories from them and others that get greencards through whatever.

P.S.
WTF is up with the Jaundiced child?!
