Its plausible. You accomplish something and you say, look I did this and I am undocumented, why can't you do it....

and boom, you are bragging about being undocumented :-p

The patriotic undocumented Mexicans. I bet you've heard this one, "Me vale verga que me agarren estos gringos pendejos, tengo como regresarme."

There is a difference

undocumented Mexicans = us dreamers (most dreamers)
undocumented Paisas = "Me vale verga que me agarren estos gringos pendejos, tengo como regresarme." "chupa verga obama" my favorite "A la chingada con la escuela pinche lugar es para burros" LMAO

LOL I've heard that one in a similar form... fuck, the ignorance is just too strong in some of them, yet some manage to make mad money doing the "shitjobs".

I wouldn't call Mexican "DREAMers" (as cheesy as that label sounds) undocumented Mexicans because some of them might get offended since they have lived here almost all of their life. I personally just call everyone a mojado even if they didn't swim across the Rio Grande (Bravo chingado) just to be fair to all my illegal comrades.

Those are not dreamers Buddie. Dreamers don't talk like that because to be a Dreamer you have to go to college and the college people I know have a very different vocabulary..

It's not so bad having people know you're undocumented. I told all my friends and teachers. It was actually helpful for me to tell them because then they can give advice on how to deal with it. Well, at least I thought I benefited from it... When I told the faculty in my program at the university, all my professors let me sit and learn in all their classes... I paid for two classes but got access to five classes.... I had a lot of access and tools by just working hard but also confiding with the faculty. All my teachers gave me great advice on how to start my career as an undocumented person.

Not only that, but I got an award for being an 'outstanding international media student' from my department at graduation. The faculty all knew about my situation, and helped me greatly.

I think you should tell people when it's time to do so because they can help. And don't worry, I don't think you can get deported if you're a hard working student who knows a bunch of people and have good grades. I know for a fact that I won't get deported if I ever get caught because I can just pull some strings, call in a few people, and I can still stay in this country.

Honestly, I think I got more from school being illegal than legal. When people feel sad for you, they tend to give you more things to work with.

Wow, I can just imagine how embarrassed you were.

Obviously, now you know you can't trust certain people, no matter how "close" you two think you are. For her to tell your personal business to a co-worker is very unprofessional. Who knows who else she told, if she's not even close to that other teacher. There's a difference between anonymously seeking for advice from fellow co-workers and down right putting names on confidential situations.

Ugh, there is one student adviser for my department who knows about me since she helped me fill out some paperwork like an application for graduation that needed my SS#, etc.

The only time I seem to meet her is during student functions where she's always like "so, how are you doing?" I'm always afraid that she's going to let something slip out about my status when we're around other people (who are almost always people from my department and either know me or are my friends), so I'm always trying to slink away from having any sort of discussion with her.

Nobody knows about my status other than a few family friends and a few people in the administration at my college.
