You have a deportation letter.
Removal already passed.
You go to school, second year in college.

Would you leave the country?
Would you fight? If so, how would you fight?

Definitely fight. I don't know how but wait for someone with experience to respond and even consult a lawyer. But definitely fight because you are already in college and Dream Act eligible. Don't forget ICE's new lenient stance towards Dreamers may give you an advantage.

I would probably fight. How? Well, that's a tough question, but I would probably consult an immigration lawyer and hope that the federal court somehow puts the deportation on hold.

Leaving the country without a fight would be like throwing all your effort throughout your life out the window (assuming you've lived here all your life). And if you leave, the chances of you coming back "legally" are virtually non-existent.

I don't know if that's your case right now but if it is I would strongly encourage you to put up a fight.

FIGHT! The legal fees can accumulate but that's the only option I'd have. The removal proceeding doesn't happen quickly. I think you may get at least two years until the final removal decision. Correct me if I am wrong. Within the next 2 years, you can hope for the best. take your chances. With the new ICE memo, there are good chances of some sort of relief if you 1) have been here for 10+ years, and 2) can prove that your removal would cause significant hardship to one or more US citizens.

I've always wondered - what if you start a business. And raise enough fund so you are able to employ at least 3-4 employees. In that case your deportation would cause these 3/4 USC employees extraordinary hardship. I know it sounds crazy but as far as I know, legally any of us can start a business. And if you have a high tech background (CS, EE majors), and have a good start up idea, it's not impossible to raise a few million of venture capital fund. call me crazy but it's doable!

Well it is my current situation so yes.
I do already have a deportation removal. (fought for asylum and didn't end up showing on the last court date because of a miscommunication from my lawyer) so inguess it's considered as a lost.

Now. I intend to marry my best friend, but
I don't have money to have a lawyer open up my case. The case has
to be open in order for her to petition me. And the process will
be longer since I already have a removal letter.

I live in california. 20 years old. Came to US WHen I was 11.

Advice?
