I'm also considering flying really soon. I'm from Chicago. I've heard people say to avoid O'Hare... should I? Is Midway any safer? Anyone know?

Is it safe to travel domestically in the U.S. with a new passport without a visa? Since my visa in my passport had expired a long reply. I just worry about the TSA would question my immigration status.

bro she was a minor read the TSA.GOV Acceptable ID Forms for minor and adults, with all the respect you deserved "DONT TALK IF YOU DONT KNOW."

if you travel outside of the 48 States you better have a federal ID. College ID does not work, neither does your foreign passport well unless you have a visas which we both know (Its not happening.) LOL IM in the same boat as well. just trying to help , anyone that needs help LMK im in seattle at the moment and travel all the time with my mexican passport w/ no stamp. if you guys need advice or have questions PM ME i'll be cool with answering a few.

Good Greetings.
What about the seattle WA? Is it safe to travel to Seattle using a passport without a visa?

Is the TSA who asked about immigration status your friends? So you think domestic travel dangerous by planes?

Just wanna throw in my recent experience.

I haven't travelled since 2004 (i was still a highschooler then and so i used student ID to travel since i was still under 18 ). This is the first time travelling again via plane after 7 years, and so naturally I was really nervous but everything went fine. I flew from JFK (NYC) to MCO (Orlando, Fl.) and the TSA agents just checked if the names on the passport and boarding pass matched and asked for my birthdate and that was it.

They ask for your visa or not? I worried that they would ask my visa because my visa in my old passport and my visa also expired

No, they didn't ask anything else besides what I listed. They didn't flip over the page either. They just compared ur info page on ur passport with the info on the boarding pass to see if they matched and that's it. Just make sure to have your passport opened to the info page so they dont have to flip it open themself. Less chance of them accidentally opening to the visa pages.

My passport is new with no visa also. I just renewed it like at the beginning of the year.

i dont know if it was TSA or CBP. im guessing CBP but im not sure. i mean there are thousand different ways you can get nabbed. most likely you will be fine but i wouldnt take the risk unless it was that important.

bottom line is, risk is low, but there is always that possibility.

I agree wd dreamerQuas. If your reason for travel isn't that very important, then DO NOT! unless of course if u recently married a US citizen(even if papers haven't been processed yet). Hella yeah, then TRAVEL by all means doemstically.
