When I left the US, I was approached by zero members of any US government agency. I left like a ghost.

But I think it depends on the port of entry you chose. I left via the Columbia Solidarity Bridge, north of Laredo, Texas. The Mexico side is pretty lax. I've been told that if you enter via the Progresso bridge, you don't really get checked or stopped by anyone.

I saw no government official from the USA when I crossed towards Tijuana in a car. Currently in Tijuana and not in any hurry to leave.

Yup, and he's saying that from Tijuana. If things are alright in Tijuana, you can believe they are alright elsewhere. Every Mexican I met from this part of the country would pretty much rather take up the butt without lube than live in one of the major border cities. But now I am willing to bet that its all drawn out of proportion and maybe it isn't as bad up there as everyone here says it is.

Yeah, I haven't found anything to be afraid of so far. Stay in public places, you'll be fine.

What country did you back to? How long did you live in us? Do you regret anything? Any advice for us dreamers who are undecided about going back? Thanks!!

It's not that bad actually. Sure, the backroads aren't as well maintained as they were back in the US, and my students don't seem to take being on time seriously....but I have a real life now. Not nearly as bad as I expected.

Eddy what is the process for returning to the US? How would one such as yourself outside the US apply to return?
