Nursing program accepting undocumented students? Someone please help!

I am a first year student in a community college in Alabama pursuing a career in nursing. I have been told that to apply for the nursing program next fall, I need to pass a background check. I'm an undocumented student and I won't be able to pass it. I'm really upset because I dont want to have to give up my dream. I'm willing to move to a different state. Can anyone tell me if they know of any schools that would allow me to enter the nursing program? I'm a little desperate for good news. Thank you everyone!

When I was in nursing school, the school I attended did not require background checks. However, this year, there was a change in policy. The school's clinical affiliates now require that students have a background check yearly. Nursing students on this site have mentioned that they have been able to pass background checks, but I have never actually done one myself. Refer to the thread above.

Thank you for that link! Now I'm just wondering if things have changed because some of those posts are from 2008. Things can change from year to year and I just wanted to know if people have recent news. I will be meeting with the Head of the Nursing Program soon and hopefully all goes well. I might have to change my major if she says I cant use my ITIN.
