Waiting for Immigrant's reply on this. I think they should include it in STEM because Accounting is a very special and intricate form of mathematics, mathematics of business. I bet if one of those senators take a course in Cost Accounting, they'd consider including it in STEM in a heartbeat.

Before everyone start getting anxious about finding out if their degrees qualify, i believe THE question is, do dreamers qualify?

Like the OP said, yes it does under Bennett's proposal. But that is where this ends, its just a proposal and will never see the light of day. It is a political ploy to show voters that Republicans care. Expect something similar from the Demotards any time.

No. There are too many unemployed accountants.

USCIS keeps a list. If your major's listed in there, you are OK. If not, sorry.

However, it seems like ACIP asked Obama administration to expand STEM field to Accounting.
And rejected. The recommendation failed to make the expanded list, along with MBAs. Those added were legitimate STEM fields, just that they were newer.

Bachelors also qualify for 2.5 year OPT(Normal is 1 year). But all proposed immigration benefits are for masters and up only.

It seems that I found an exception to the list www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/pdf/stem-list-2011.pdf

ex) Financial Engineering is not on the list but considered a STEM degree

maybe there are more exceptions such as a Finance degree? I mean, Financial Engineering degree is considered a STEM but Finance is not?
