No school for me. =[ - Page 2

I waited 3 years before going to college. It was hard seeing my friends go to school while I did nothing with my life but things will get better. If money is the only issue for you (ie. your status is not hte main issue keeping you back), nobody says you have to go to a full time university. Take classes at a community college...some places 2 or 3 classes costs less than $1000 a semester.

thank GOD for VISA....i work and i pay all my expenses (except rent) and i come short on the money for school when my third installment comes around......wonder if there is aid if you are a resident of a state (Texas)

I wish I have the same fortunes as you. I don't have a home, I roam the streets at night for a place to sleep and to charge my laptop. I feel 3 times as hopeless as you are. I don't even know when my next meal would come. I work everyday but only earn 20 bucks on average. Sigh... And you think your life is hopeless. Heck I don't even have or know any relatives here.

why don't you be a part time student?..or save up money for next semester?

i have thought about suicide before but i always come to the conclusion that it's not worth it. i am not gonna let some bullsh*t immigration problem control my life! i'm worth so much more.
if you need help with depression, maybe you can take some community college courses and look to see if they provide any psychological therapy sessions?

A lot of the others already said it but you should consider going to school part time. I know how expensive college and the bad economy just makes it twice as hard but trust me even if its for just one class being in school will make u feel so much better. I remember my first day at my university i felt so acomplished it was so surreal because with my status it seemed impossible that i would go to a 4 year university.... funny thing was I was only taking one class lol! that was all I could afford at the time. But just being there was enough. It has taken me a long time to graduate because I only take the classes i can afford and trust me I am pinching pennies all the time because my parents cannot afford to help me. So it may take a little more time than you expected but you can certainly go to school. best of luck to you and just know that we are all in this frustrating situation together! we totally understand and hope that things will work out for you = ) hang in there fellow dreamer!

Texas grant?

I am a resident of Texas, still have a valid Texas DL. I have some savings which i do not want to touch. is it possible for me to get some kind of aid for university?

If you graduated from Texas High School, I think you might be qualified for Texas grant?

But you'll probably have to touch your savings for book expenses and such.
