I just have to say that with all this I have found out that this DREAM Act thing is really weak because some of its beneficiaries are so willing to accept something else that would leave out so many.

In my opinion the ARMS Act is too troublesome considering the situation with the troops clearing out and the fact that some would be left out that would classify for the act, such as with people with certain medical conditions.

So You Think the troops are clearing out, Huh?

This is a bunch of hoopla, man the fuck up.

And same thing with the "educated part" of the bill. LOL if the Democrats get behind the ARMS Act you can bet your ass that part would be gone.

If DREAMers are not mentally fit for the military. Then how the hell are you a DREAMer? Aren't we suppose to be the best? the intellectuals and the smart unignorant elite? As for being physically fit, that's your problem. If you're overweight, then start fkin exercising! If you're too skinny, start lifting weights. This is as easy as that. By the time the ARMS Act passes(if it does), or until you're going to join it, you'll hopefully meet the basic minimum requirements (not too demanding) to start training.

So that's the excuse to hinder other Dreamers from succeeding?

Beggars can't be choosers. You want to be choosy? Be illegal for another 10 years or so. Hell, if you think DREAM Act will legalized 100% of us, it won't.

We need some sort of path and this is our chance in this fucked up circumstance.

I know we worked hard for our degrees but at the end of the day we did it for "us" not for the US.

US Military is supposed to be voluntary. I can't support something that would make so many undocumented students in desperation to be legalized join. And that is what is going to happen. I also think passing the ARMS Act would do more harm than good, in the long run, the the undocumented students' movement. My opinion is slightly selfish because I don't want to join the Military at this point in my life, but there is also some selfishness in those who support the ARMS Act and can't seem to see why some would oppose it. I understand not everyone can afford to go to college while undocumented, but the DREAM Act would at least give you the choice to join the Military or enroll in college at the time of passage while being able to legally work and drive.

I agree, and for the very reason that some will join out of desperation as you have said, is enough to make it lose support.

The reality of this is that if you really want to go to the military

like I mean you have always been working towards that as a goal; then great

but people that have never had experience and that out of the blue agree to join is not something that the military or the USC's are going to find attractive

How many kids join military because they love this country so much that they're willing to die for it?

Like 90% join because the military pays for their college, for salary and for the benefits to their family.

Once again, you're living in La-La Land and giving all kinds of excuse for opposing it because it doesn't serve your self-interest.
