This thread is awesome!!! I am sorry. I have always been so pissed off at my aunt. She came before 1986, she has been an LPR for 26 years!! She has not even applied to be a citizen to help out my grandmother. She could have even sponsored my mother! Instead she fools around with ugly men, drinks, just filed for bankrupcy and produced undesireable offspring (USCs) who smoke pot....

This.

I've gotten better at avoiding negative thoughts but dammit, it is such a constant mental battle. It is tiring, demoralizing and overall just.. so effn difficult.

Still I Dream.

Not a single day goes by that I don't think about my situation.

Oh, and birthdays are the worst. On my birthday, I usually end up sobbing in bed thinking "wow, it's been another year"

As far as stupid family members I have one. My dad's uncle is a low life good for nothing scumbag that got his papers from the amnesty. Instead of helping my family out, he lived off of our money for a few years, while my mom was trying to raise me. Instead of buying me Christmas gifts for my first Christmas in the US, he took the money my mom gave him and spent it on cigarettes. On top of that, whenever my mom wanted him to get out, he threatened to call ICE on her.
Haven't seen him in a few years. Last time we visited him, he was living in a small apartment. He could be dead for all I know, I don't care.

I blast music and scream my emotions out once in a while, it really helps If I ever get that damn piece of paper I'm never going to forget what I went through, I'm never gonna put anyone down because of their status and I'll always be there for someone who is in an unfortunate situation. If you all get that piece of paper DO NOT EVER FORGET WHAT YOU WENT THROUGH!

Oh man, my mom's family is the same way. It's like your uncle times seven. What is worse, my mom's brothers have anchor babies, so they try to rub it in my face. They say that their children will do great things and that I will die as a fucken wetback. Son unos hijos de su puta madre. My grandma is a fucken bitch too--along with my mom's brothers. I hope that fat bitch burns in hell when she dies. Gosh I hate those fuckers.

To this day, I can imagine those fuckers laughing when the DA was inhumanely blocked in 2010.

For some reason Mig I came here to agree with your disclaimer, and atleast that's something I can agree with you.

For everyone else, you guys really just have to keep yourself busy. Most of you have a college degree. Make use of it even if it's just volunteer work; that's something you can add to your resume that can work to your best interest in the future even if it isn't paid. Work at a restaurant or join a gym. I know there are days when we all feel the need to blame somebody, but dwelling on it everyday won't help you.

This kind of thinking had been hitting me pretty hard lately. My tuition bill is here and it's so expensive. I pay out of state tuition with no aid whatsoever.

Ouch, out of state? I assume you are in MI. Out of state is rough, hang in there though, your hard work will pay off!
