Hey guys!

I live in Texas and yesterday out of the spur of the moment I applied at this restaurant at a very touristic place. My babysitting money is not cutting it for bills and tuition. I pretty much got hired on the spot and all I need is my TABC license (which is just an online thing I can get with no problem). My question is, if they ask for documents what do I say? I have a SS card that says, "not valid for employment" and I do not have a DL. The manager loved me and she seem very nice. She told me I'd be on the schedule asap if I had the TABC license . She told me to call her as soon as I got it so she could bring me in for a second interview with other managers (she said they would definitely bring me on board too) after that she would put me on the schedule and start making money. How are you guys working?

Just use your social security number. Just don't show them the card though.

Alright.... if they ask should I just be straight forward and tell them my situation? Apparently people here say that this is very common and most places will take you anyway. I did that with my very first employer and I worked there for 2yrs until I got tired of the manager and quit.

So what do so many immigrants do?? Just get fake ones or use another form of ID's... Would employers take school ID's?

Employers can't discriminate you based on what form of ID you provide when you sign the I-9 form for employment. SSN card from List-C and a photo id from List-B should suffice. "School ID card with a photograph" is a valid form of identification on List-B.

Who refused to take your college id? Legally they can't refuse to take your college id if it has a photograph and if it's not expired.
