Yea my mistake on the ITIN, I was told it was needed, I'll edit the first post.

Here are some of the answers to the question that was asked before:

"Will we get any money for this?"

If you meet the May 10 deadline for filling out the California dream act application, and you are attending a CSU, if you meet the income eligibility guidelines, you will receive a state University grant ~ which will pay the majority of your tuition fees. AT SF state, tuition in spring 2012 is $3138. The state University grant this semester is $2736 which means the student would only be required to pay $402.

"so wait, you can still get money even if you've graduated already?(undergrad)

No, if you’ve graduated, you're not able to get the money retroactively. You have to be enrolled in the spring 2013 semester (or future semesters) in order to be able to receive state funds.


I thought the CalGrant was for people in their 4th year or sooner...?"

CalGrant is a grant for students who have graduated high school in California. It can be awarded for a maximum of 8 years, but if the student applies for it after already entering college, there are often only 2 years or less at the grant can be yolanda venegas awarded.



"Is this a one-time thing? Or will I be able to apply next year? "

This is not a one-time thing. If you continue to apply for the dream application on time, and continue to meet income eligibility guidelines, there is no end date for the student's ability to receive this aid.

Yes! the aid will not be as nice as Cal Grants, but you are eligible to receive the "state university grant," which ranges from $1,000 to $2,000. It's help, man.

You can receive the "state university grant." Do some research on it.

Well, I sure do hope that many of you benefit from this because I had to go through hell, fire, and brimstone to reach my level of education--alot of coffee pouring, smiling, being screamed at, and exploited. Hell to say the least.

Wow I am glad I reside in California. I am grateful for this opportunity and this kind of assistance. Thanks! I wasn't asking for a full ride, but if I can pay only a few $100 per semester for school as appose to having to shell out a few $1000 per semester, I would be a very happy person!

Okay but I have one question and I am hoping someone might be able to help me out. So I have an ITIN because I filed taxes as I had a part time job. My question is, am I suppose to fill out the tax portion of this, such as listing what I made for the year 2011? Or is it best to leave it blank as if I didn't make an income? Thanks for your help!

Only if you filed your tax return this year, and no it does not require an ITIN anywhere on the application.

I have an ITIN but I didnt file any taxes, no job... but my parents filed one for this year. What about UCs? Tuition is about 13k a year... how much do you think I can end up getting per quarter through this? I felt that I might get nothing coz my parents work or something...

Right now I'm borderline... I bunched up my schedule so much that I will be able to finish my bachelors in 2 years... but I would love to stay in school and get another degree, but its too expensive. This CA dream app can change my plans, but I'm hesitant coz I might get nothing so I might as well just graduate this year.

what is the gpa require to get the grant?

I don't think there's a gpa requirement, I did not see one, while I was filling up the app.
