To anyone who flew out (without turning themselves in), was there a big fuss about missing forms and such?

When I had my visa appt in juarez, I flew in to El Paso, TX from LAX and crossed in a taxi to juarez. Mexican customs inspected us for drugs and weapons and then just let us through. If you are really worried, you can just cross by foot. But as far as flying out is concerned you should not have a problem it´s the coming back that´s the hard part. Good Luck!

I left by plane and literally nothing happened. He only checked if my name on my passport is the same as on my ticket. This is why I keep telling people there is a good chance you can come back legally without 10 year ban, especially if u came before 9/11.

That's reassuring, thanks. I'm not even worried about the ban, I just don't want to be anally probed or have my family get involved. I see on another thread you were living in UK, are you going to school? How are things there?

As long as you have a passport of such country, you will not have a problem.

You must be from one of these, and no you are not Cuban.

These four countries and Taiwan do not have official diplomatic relations with (nor an embassy in) the United States.
Bhutan

According to the Unites States Department of State, "The United States and the Kingdom of Bhutan have not established formal diplomatic relations; however, the two governments have informal and cordial relations." However, informal contact is maintained through the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi to the mountainous country of Bhutan.

Cuba

Although the island country of Cuba is a close neighbor to the United States, the U.S. only interacts with Cuba via a U.S. Interests office at the Swiss Embassy in Havana and Washington D.C. The U.S. broke diplomatic relations with Cuba on January 3, 1961

Iran

On April 7, 1980, the United States broke diplomatic relations with theocratic Iran, and on April 24, 1981, the Swiss Government assumed representation of U.S. interests in Tehran. Iranian interests in the United States are represented by the Government of Pakistan.

North Korea

The communist dictatorship of North Korea is not on friendly terms with the U.S. and while talks between the two countries are ongoing, there is no exchange of ambassadors.

Taiwan

Taiwan is not recognized as an independent country by the U.S. since the island nation claimed by the mainland People's Republic of China. Unofficial commercial and cultural relations between Taiwan and the United States are maintained through an unofficial instrumentality, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office, with headquarters in Taipei and field offices in Washington D.C. and 12 other U.S. cities.

Not complaining, I am happy with my decision. I am going to school for free atm(its hard but doable if you can work the system in your favor) working towards a degree in Business Sudies. Job market is crap atm, but so is everywhere. I like the people for the most part, but some are not too keen on immigrants since a lot of eastern europeans have invaded their country(me being another one lol).

Interesting. I'm looking to attend uni at UK myself but I have the misfortune of starting the same year they raise tuition to $15k. Right now I'm trying to get in contact with some people and figure out just how the system works. If you have any tips please PM me. I'm Bulgarian so that's going to make things a little trickier too, at least until 2014. I'll be leaving the US probably early June
