If it was that easy then everyone would be married right?

The marriage has to be a love marriage and real.

USA is the only country known to Dreamers. Where else would they go?

Are you sure? I would love to see the numbers on this.

Why would they go back in their home countries? The only country known is USA.

I would cap it at 30 with Retroactive or 35 with no Retroactive.

Gaby Pacheco, a vocal immigrant activist, accepted a tantalizing invitation last week from an unlikely source: Republican Sen. Marco Rubio wanted her to help craft a bill that could legalize the children of some illegal immigrants
I believe Gaby Pacheco is at least 27 years old, so the age cap would be at least 30. I'm sure she would want to qualify for this bill lol.

I hate giving out personal information on here but I am 36. Came here when I was 10 just a few months after the 1986 Amnesty.

If they want to make it to where a kid came here before the age of 16, it would mean that at this point, there are potentially dreamers who are now 42 (anybody older would have already qualified for the original amnesty or would have been over 16).

Now why o why would we deny the person who has suffered that long relief? It makes no sense. Where are you guys coming up with 35?? I'd expect this from right wingers, but if you think that just because you're a teenager now you deserve this more than me, then, F you. I've been here 25 years. I've lived the nightmare that you just now realize you MIGHT live.

No offense to you sir, I give you all the respect in the world. But at the age of thirty six have you not seriously considered immigrating? I mean opposition is intense towards awarding it to those who are to put it lightly, aged in terms of dreamer age. Republicans have long been adamant on the age requirement and Rubio's proposition(even though likely to fail) will be no different. The way I see it sir is you can either wait for CIR or leave America. Again all the respect in the world to you sir.

Immigrated to where?? I don't even have a passport from my home country and can't get one. It's not as if this was planned. 2 years turned into 5 years, 5 years turned into 10 years and then was told "surely some new legislation will come...just go to school and then 10 years turned into 15 years and then 9/11 happened and all hell broke loose, dot com bubble burst so forget work sponsorships, no more school so forget meeting a decent girl to marry.

20 years later Bush was elected again so I was waiting for the next guy to do something and now 25 years later, I'm being told that "eh, you're not attractive enough to pass this bill".

Seriously, WTF. It should be either all Dreamers or nobody.

*edit*

I assure you I will not go anywhere and I have no where else to go. I just find it ironic that all of a sudden when there is a glimmer of hope in this sinking rat ship that we're in, you youngin's are willing to jump over the other ones to try to save yourselves and justifying it.

You need to get real, I have said it once and I'll say it again. At some point those of us who are in our late 20s are going to have to make a decision on a alternative plan for our lives, because the political reality is that we may not benefit from any "Dream Act legislation" We all need to get real, because not all of us is going to benefit from whatever bill is passed. It's either your going to be too old or you haven't been here long enough.

Who said I don't have a backup plan, but thanks to retrogression, those plans are now 5 years ahead instead of 2 years. The point is that many people on here have a sense of entitlement that somehow they deserve this more just because they are younger. Political reality is in the eyes of Americans, you are no better than me. In fact, some might say you haven't paid your dues (Newt anyone?) since you are not part of the fabric of the community if you've only been here for 5 years.

There are a lot of "You should have's" and "You Could have's" . Yes, if 15 years ago I knew I would be waiting for another 15 years, I may have made some other choices. I'm sure many of you would have wished your parents made other choices, but the reality is here we are.
