Hello everyone!

I have two questions,

I was traveling north about a year ago and they had the San Clemente checkpoint up and running. I got so scared but I lucked out and they stopped checking people a couple cars before the one I was in. So I'm curious as to whether or not these checkpoints are still active. I used to get rides up to Disneyland all the time and I've never seen it active. Then I've been following the news for the San Clemente checkpoint and there are stories on people getting inspected and they find drugs or people. Then the same goes with the Temecula checkpoint. Are these checkpoints being used now? I'd like to go back to Disneyland and Six flags but I'm so scared.

Then I'd actually like to travel to Utah. I was planing on driving there but I'm worried about the checkpoints. I've read that people have been able to fly. How exactly would I go about doing that? Would I need a passport? Anything else? Perhaps someone could provide me with a step by step? Please? Also, if anyone been flying recently, has security for people in our situation gotten tougher or has it stayed relatively the same as previous years?

I look forward to responses and I'm be very thankful for any and all help.

Instruction for flying
Step 1: buy ticket online (I usually use Kayak)
Step 2: go to the airport and board your plane
Step 3: order a drink(21up), then just sit back and relax

Just use your passport, nothing is going to happen to you.

We should sticky one of the traveling threat, I had been answering the same question again and again.

Thank you. I'm still a little nervous and unsure of actually going through with this. It just seems odd that it'd be this... simple? I always figured that it would be much harder than driving or using the greyhound.

Everything is going to be fine, just don't walk in to the airport looking all nervous and scare. Just wait in line, flip your passport to the page that has your name and photo and hand it to the agent. They are just going to check your photo and name, make sure the name in the ticket is exactly the same.

I was so parannoyed about this last month when I traveled because it had been emphazised on here so much as well as on the travel websites ( not just for us deamers but for USC too) someone else bought my ticket and even tough they used my first middle and 2 last names when making the purchase for some reason my middle name which shows on my passport got cut off the boarding pass ( probably because it was so long) thankfully I didn't have any issues but if at all possible verify that this does not happen to you. Its better to do this and avoid any possible hangups.

Sorry, I don't want to confuse anyone. I should say the first and last name should be the same. No misspelling, using your husband's last name and etc...

Most likely yes. I do not know what country you are from, but some countries do require legal status in the country you are residing in. Look up your consulate/embassy online and there should be a list of documents needed to renew your passport. If you do need to prove legal status it will say so there. If you have questions from there you could always call/e-mail the consulate.
