Can either of you please explain how one would go about flying within the US? Would I just need a passport and that's it? I'd be very thankful if someone could explain how I would be able to board a plane without any problems. Is it really that safe for us? Even now?

Well its not 100 % SAFE per saybut it is possible. Many of us just use our unexpired passports from our country as a form of Id to travel. Granted we don't have a visa in said passports (for obvious reasons) so that is the reason its dangerous because even tough TSA is only supposed to make sure that the name on the boarding pass matches the name on your Id there have been cases where they flip through the passport looking for your visa in which case you are out of luck .... Personally I've done it twice this year without issues (altough I almost fainted in the process because I saw a TSA agent flip through someone's passport right in front of me at the check point ... that was scary! but nothing happened to me thank Goodness)
If you look through the forum there are plenty of threads with all of our experiences regarding this subject, bottom line flying is a gamble but I guess many of us are to the point that we are willing to take the risk!
