I sure do hope Rubio is picked by Romney as his running-mate. It would definitely boost Rubio's recognition and DA's coverage. With Romney together with Rubio, which conservative would be stupid enough to oppose their own candidate....it'll be a political suicide come november.

Once Romney picks his vp, and gets the ball rolling for the general election against Obama, the conservative base would can do nothing but to support and praise the candidates, and keep criticisms at minimum...

Find relief at the expense of our parents not being able to find any work? No, thank you. You understand that E-Verify will make finding employment extremely difficult, right?

I was brought here when I was 2 so I guess I would meet 99% of Rubio's requirements, or at least the "rumored" requirements. I hope Dems can agree that E-verify is necessary to keep Rubio's bill alive.

I was wondering though, if they implement the e-verify program nationwide, would employers be required to check the status of their current employees or just new ones?

Contestame
Well, I think E-verify is even a divisive issue in the House among the GOP because of commercial interests. I am sure many of us still remember the skepticism that Lamar Smith received from members of his own party over E-verify.

What we CAN and SHOULD do is to ask both sides to consider the inclusion of E-verify in their talks to see if something along the lines of relief+E-verify could be passed.

I think E-verify being implemented at the national level would even screw over those already working. Companies would not want to risk suffering the consequence, so I am certain that they would check the status of their current workers and aspirants.

Reid is a real douche. There, I said it!

I seriously can't stand that guy. He failed to do his part in DA 2010. (55-41)

I don't think E-verify should be included in this bill, because it will screw over people who are already working (and will not qualify for DA). I don't want to screw over people just for my benefit. I think E-verify should be implemented with CIR. Just my opinion.

I completely understand. But, how many are at the point where their parents are finding it difficult to even hold a job in the public sector? My parents and I work independently because the fact that employers are so stringent now--at least in southern California. Second, I think we could support our parents somehow, but I acknowledge that many dreamers would not be ready for that.

I still see your point. Like many of you have already commented, NumbersUSA will still oppose the bill. So, I think it would best if the upcoming bill excluded e-verify because, like I said, even that element is controversial among GOP in the house.

Exactly. I don't believe in screwing over others (whether they are relatives or not) for my own benefit.

However, there are those who believe there is nothing wrong with walking over others to benefit themselves. I don't know if I am wrong or they, considering that almost everyone I come into contact with seems like a selfish asshole, so maybe that is the right way to live life.

Nevertheless, I will stick to my own beliefs even thought that might not be the right way to live life.
