A Dreamer on 90210

I thought this should go here since this is some what relevant. So from time to time I watch 90210 (yes I know...but its a guilty pleasure.) Well anyways I was watching it this past Tuesday and a character named Diego came out as undocumented.

In the episode the police are looking for him. (Its not as bad as it sounds you would have to watch the show to get the plot) basically he stated that he was brought here when he was 2 years old, there's no path to legalization and if he gets deported he will get sent back to Mexico. At the end of the episode they try hiding Diego in a yacht and then go to a church so he could seek sanctuary.

From what I saw on the previews for next week, the priest that is helping Diego by giving him sanctuary seeks legal counsel to try to assist Diego. Also, his friends plan a rally to compel the CA Governor/law makers to help Diego adjust status.

I know that your probably like oh who cares its just on some stupid show. I agree just it's a show... a show that is watched by a lot of young people and that can humanize what we go through and expose how broken our immigration laws are.

More momentum for Dream Act.

Wow....this is pretty interesting...so glad that something has shed a light on our situation, even if it was just on a cheesy show like 9021o. It's still something. Thanks for sharing Lora.

I think i might begin to watch this show! I have not given it a chance because i have a life, but since i can probably relate, i will watch it.

HOLD UP. 90210 still exists? I miss the old 90210 and the 90's.

There's that new show Scandal, on one of the episodes the President actually strong arms his Senate into passing the DREAM Act. It was already becoming my favorite show, but I was extra hype when I saw that. Is DA becoming mainstream?
