So, I finally came out to my longtime boyfriend about my situation and thankfully he was understanding and offered to help! We were planning on getting married within the next couple years anyway, so it's really no big deal to him. It feels like a ton was lifted off my shoulders.
I entered with inspection from Mexico when I was about 9. My situation is a bit more complex than most but we have a super brainy Asian lawyer that shows to know his shit, so I am hoping everything goes smooth.
We are going to get married within the next two months, and starting the process a bit after.

I have a few questions for people that have gone through it or just happen to know, like what kind of questions will they ask at the interview? Will they try and scold me for being an overstay? I like to know what the hell to expect, haha.

ALSO, I have heard of people not even having to go to the interview, does that actually happen often and why?

I am so thankful to be able to do this. I am tired of the situation, and although it sucked so bad I am glad that I went through living like this. Because of this, I have become a lot more understanding of those around me and appreciative of everything in my life. I will not forget how it was, and once I have legal standing I will continue to support my fellow dreamers in that way, that is, if the idiots in charge of the laws still haven't fixed this. I really hope something passes soon, and I hope it benefits even the original dreamers.

Anything you guys know about the interview will help me know what to expect. Thank you in advance.

Overstay getting married to a USC? This process is very simple. They would know you are Overstay and some cases interviews are waived but you have to talk to your lawyer on this.

Besides questions like where did he or she go to middle schoolor when did she come here, they ask you all kinds of weird questions like the color of hisboxer... You have to talk toa reliable lawyer. They usage most of the questions down, then you and ur bf have toa it down to reviews. Whenever you don't know or wasn't sure whether it's necessary to answer just say. Don't really bother to find out lol

I think you're pretty much home free to be honest. The adjustment part should go without a hitch. And honestly, when it's a girl who's marrying a USC, they tend to have much less scrutiny. Don't forget us little people after you get your green card

You're lucky, you have a good guy. There are some guys that wouldn't want anything to do with you if they hear that you're Undocumented.

They will ask questions to confirm if you actually co-habitate as Husband and wife.It could be any number of questions but only the Adjudicator would know at the time of interview. If you know each other long enough you shouldn't have any issue at the adjustment.

Definitely not,It is not their job to play parent. The reality is their job is to assume the marriage maybe fraudulent and ask you questions to try and prove such.If the questions the adjudicator has devised are answered accurately by both parties then this simply becomes a question of nervousness and is a non-issue.The adjudicator will expect you to be nervous at the interview and obviously your lawyer will be with you so it should go smoothly as long as:1.You tell the truth 2.Don't have a criminal record 3.Have your I-94 ready to prove you came in legally.

This is actually the reason why many get nervous in the first place because of what,"they heard"! Relax, take a deep breath and understand that each person's individual process is just that. This is an initial government benefit you will be trying to gain and an Adjustment Interview is mandatory. What you've "heard" is based upon a second possible interview which sometimes happen if USCIS believes the marriage may have been initially fraudulent or may do so at random, but statistics showcase that happens usually around 10% of the time for a second interview. It is a ~2 3/4 year process and up to 4 years if going for Naturalization.

Thank you guys for the insight It really does help me put everything in perspective as to what I should expect.
Cross my fingers that everything will go good and I get my GC...and even then I will still come back and read up on DAP to see how things are moving along for you guys.

If anyone is debating on doing this and wants to know how it all goes down after it is all done, I can help with questions.

.....I AM SO EXCITED

In what circumstances is the interview waived? So what happens if the Rubio's proposal passes? That would be a non-immigrant Visa and not an adjustment for the GC.
