Heh, SA to LV through El Paso.

Make sure to write to us from Mexico (or wherever) once you're back home.

I've never really traveled using greyhound. Thanks
have you ever tried riding one of those private mexican buse lines? i think if anything those buses would avoid any stops where there are checkpoints since the majority of their bus riders are hispanic and undocumented. in my case i have taken the private mexican buses back up to northern california for winter break, spring break and summer break from los angeles (san franando valley) with out any problems. and also the fare might be cheaper as well i saved $25 dollars by using them instead of greyhound. but ive only traveled once going south from the Sacramento, CA to San Fernando, CA with stops in stockton, modesto, fresno, and bakersfield with out any checkpoints.

I don't know about El Paso man... My attorney even advised me to not change planes there given that it's close enough for border patrol to do searches.

Are you ignorant or just that negative? I just got home safe. It is really not that dangerous, but I can't deny that it was, in fact, a VERY risky move.

I passed 7 checkpoints in total. I got really nervous the first two, but the agents would just approach people and ask, "Sr, US Citizen" which I obviously responded with yes, and they moved on. Aside from one station where they did ask for my ID (I used my friend's ID because we look incredibly alike), and he looked at it briefly and moved on. I honesty made the best decision in my life making this trip. Las Vegas and the Electric Daisy Festival blew my mind.

As long as you don't look very foreigner and don't have a strong accent, you'll be fine. It's hard to not be nervous, but practice controlling yourself.

Any questions about the trip, don't hesitate to PM me

You got lucky. All it takes is one time and your whole life will be turned upside down so you have to ask yourself is the risk worth it? If it were me and Greyhound was the only option, I'd go north then west. Maybe spend the night in a different city. Worst case, you'd see a new city - granted Greyhound stations aren't exactly known for being in the best part of towns...
