Well, I work in the steel manufacturing industry. I have a lot of experience in mining equipment. My boss has repeatedly told me that why I am working there. Obviously he does not know I am illegal. Which is ironic since he is a hardcore republican lol. He says he can easyly get me a job either at Caterpillar or Electromotive Diesel. Honestly I could get it myself. I know their product line and a lot of their engineers, but he deals with management people and has closed good deals with them. I am ready. Specially because they could probably help me out finishing paying for my grad school.

One can only hope that this work permit thing is real.

Damn brah. I wish those figures are true. I think in reality the starting range would be 40-45K but you may be right in certain positions.

It also depends on the price of living. Big cities nice NYC, Chicago and LA should pay more.

Smaller cities pay less since it cost less to live there to begin with..

But isn't internship at big 4 unofficially mendatory before getting the full-time position as a fresh-out of college grad?

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but the sad reality is we don't have anything yet. Don't count your chicks before the eggs hatch.

I hope you understand why I'm doing this.

Because you're a Debbie Downer, obv.

I want to work on the business side of tech businesses, but unfortunately there aren't many in Utah. I'll probably apply to Overstock.com, or somewhere where some of my professors have connections. In a few years I'd really like to move to NY or CA.

Do a work-study program at my school this fall or next spring. Get an internship next summer somewhere. Eventually I want to work in the field of physics modeling/video game programming. Might go for a software engineering masters.
