First of all, Hi everyone... as many of you might have noticed I rarely post on this forum lol but I do keep an eye on it. you guys are very helpful !!!
So my only concern about this Deferred Action deal is the whole thing about proving employment necessity. I think I read on someone's post that if you're under 18 and still living with your parents and they pay for all your expenses, then your chances of being given a work permit is very slim? Well, here is my situation basically:
I'm 21 years old and still enrolled in college. The program I'm in is fairly accelerated and back when I first got into it, the head of the program had advised students not to work if they were able to, OR if they had to work, not to exceed 20 hours a week. With that being said, and considering the situation we all live in, I obviously don't work lol. I live with my mother and she pays for my college tuition which is not cheap (out-of-state tuition), but they allow for a monthly plan which makes it affordable in a way. So basically I don't really have that many expenses/assets? I think the only bill I have under my name is my phone's bill, and obviously my college tuition, but even that was put under my mother's name because she does the monthly payments. I'm stated under our apartment's lease along with my mother but I'm not sure that would even count anyway. Other than that I can't think of any bills I have directly under my name. *sigh* Would my chances of being given a work permit be pretty much screwed? I do "work" every now and then at a family's friend pizza store but they don't really consider me an employee there, I just fill in every now and then when someone needs a day off. Which is very rare. So the point is, my income is very low, and so are my expenses considering mother helps with everything.
Anyway, would any of you have any idea how this whole proving employment necessity thing would work, and if there's anyway I could elaborate enough reasons to need to work considering everything I just said?
I'm sure everyone who is approved for defered action can take that notice to DMV and get a drivers lisense. Majority of the states have that as proof of legal presence. Once you get that you can get car insurance, health insurance, apartment lease, phone bill etc ... That way everyone can show they have bills to pay and I'm sure your get the work permit but I honestly think everyone will be approved as long as they are over 18.
